Celebrating 16 Years of Qusqo And Milk Jar In Encino

The women-owned Peruvian Qusqo Bistro and Gallery in West LA will celebrate 16 years on Friday, June 2, with a night of performances by local LA artists and Dj Dooby Doo curated by host Arlee, as well as food and drink, RSVP for dinner recommended. Performances include Ashley Taylor, Detrell, Icy Tim, Naomi Renae, Irama and Juse MC.

Just in time to celebrate the fifth anniversary of JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles, UKA, a new dining destination overlooking Hollywood, opens on Thursday, June 8, and will feature contemporary kaiseki dining — an ever-changing omakase menu of small plates will interpret kaiseki tradition by spotlighting fresh seasonal and interlocal ingredients.

Led by chefs Yoshitaka Mitsue and Shingo Kato, UKA draws on their deep roots in Japanese and French fine dining restaurants worldwide, as well as previous roles as private chefs to the UN Ambassador for Japan in New York. Presented on artisan-made traditional tableware, UKA features a nine-course prix fixe menu with centerpieces like chef's choice sashimi and a Wagyu steak duo, as well as signature dishes including Dashi for the Five senses, savory egg custard, house-made Hojicha cheesecake and vanilla ice cream, with an accompanying wine and sake pairing menu curated by the restaurant's sommeliers.

Located at JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles’ restaurant space, home to various restaurant pop-ups since its opening in 2018, UKA is designed by Ryu Kosaka with a focus on warm natural woods and features an intimate dining room and chef's counter limited to 30 guests per seating.

Milk Jar Cookies is opening its second location in Encino on Friday, June 2 at 9:00 a.m. and will continue with a weekend celebration until Sunday, June 4. The first person in line on Friday will receive a $500 Milk Jar Cookies gift card, the first 50 people in line on Saturday and Sunday will be entered into a raffle to win another $500 Milk Jar Cookies gift card and the first 50 people in line all three days will receive a free cookie coupon.

Celebrate National Rose Day on Saturday, June 10 by making your way down Rose Ave. for the Rosé on Rose Wine Fest in Venice featuring rose-themed specials including $7 rosés, curated food and beverage specials, exclusive deals on merchandise, and other rose-themed treats from local favorites including American Beauty, Big Red Sun, Café Gratitude, Chulita, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Parachute, Rose Room, The Rose Venice, Wabi on Rose, and a VIP Wine Tasting experience from Venice Beach Wines.

Malibu Beach Inn is partnering with Michelin Star Chef Luigi Fineo for a limited time pop-up series on select Sundays in June. Hailing from The French Laundry and the youngest chef to receive a Michelin star, Fineo will be serving up a multi-course "Pasta Al Dente" menu on CBC's expansive oceanfront terrace. Dinners take place on June 4, June 11 and June 18 at $89/per person and include welcome cocktail, a hamachi crudo salmon roe tartlett amuse bouche, seafood escabeche salad, a variety of pastas and buttermilk panna cotta with pistachio mousse for dessert.
